We’re bringing you an all-new guide to give you some useful tips and tricks to get acquainted with the basics of the game. We’ll also help you munch your way towards glory with a complete list of locations of all collectibles in the game. These include landmarks, license plates, and nutrient caches. So the beginners all around should stick to this as long as they don’t become a veteran and kill Scaly Pete. If you are a beginner, then look no further as you have landed in the right place. So let’s get started.

Tips and Tricks for Beginners in Maneater

Now we will discuss the best tips and tricks that will help you progress real quick in the game. Follow them accordingly for easy understanding.

Leveling Up

You will be able to track your progress in the game via the mission log. The campaign is divided into nine different chapters, and you will have to complete a few tasks before progressing. Most of these are powerful boss fights, treasure hunts, “Population Control” missions, and improving your Infamy rank. You should keep following the log to level up faster and gain tons of XP and minerals.

Work on Your Infamy Among the Homo Sapiens

Chomping up humans like a buffet is an effective way to level up fast. However, be wary for it will make shark hunters come right after you with powerful weapons. Killing them is not only fun but helps you obtain Evolutions that you can use to upgrade your shark’s abilities. Time to go out and do that “Jaws” roleplay we know you always wanted to!

Farming for Nutrients

What do people fear the most about sharks? That’s right, those terrifying jaws with a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth. This aquatic predator’s relentless feeding frenzy has often received exaggerated portrayals in films and other media. That’s the basic in this game – you need to keep chomping on any aquatic lifeforms that you find in your way. Even tiny creatures like mackerels and turtles will provide nutrients and help you level up as you progress.

You should keep yourself informed about the various sources of different nutrients out there. Sharks and alligators are good sources of protein, whereas you will find an abundance of minerals in some others. A general rule of thumb is that larger prey animals tend to possess more minerals. If you’re willing to take risks with the big predators, you can try swimming in more remote areas to find better prey. The Sonar is a good way of finding out about the genetic constitution of your would-be prey.

You should also try to keep an eye out for those mysterious question marks on your map. These could be Mineral chests that will offer you handsome rewards on being opened.

Choose Your Battles Wisely

You start out in Maneater as a young and rather vulnerable shark. It isn’t surprising, therefore, that you will find yourself overpowered in battles early on in the game. Many areas in this watery world are level-gated or prowled by deadly foes. The wise thing to do is not to engage with these opponents who are far stronger than you. If you find yourself being overwhelmed in the struggle, you should fight your way out of the situation and to safety. Find some prey along the way in order to replenish your health. You can have a second go at your enemies after restoring your health, and take them down effectively.

Polish Your Fighting Tactics

The combat system in Maneater isn’t particularly advanced. It is only after your shark enters adulthood that it will be able to use more powerful attacks. Until then, we advise using a hit-and-run strategy with larger enemies, preferably making good use of the double chomp.

Keep Alive the Explorer Inside You

Intriguing new areas in the underwater world will keep opening up as you move through the game. Each of them contains new creatures to face and new treasures to find. Therefore, you should try to retrace your path and check the areas you left behind for collectibles and missions. You’ll definitely find this more useful when you’re at a higher level in the game. Completing missions and finding vital items will help you progress better through the primary campaign of the game.

Keep an Eye Out for Yellow Plants in the Caves

Underwater tunnels and caverns in Maneater can be labyrinths of twisted and confusing paths. It’s easy to get lost in a maze and get frustrated trying to find a way out. Fortunately, the programmers included yellow plants and lights in the surroundings that serve as subtle markers to help you find the exit.

Customize Your Shark Properly

With time, you will earn numerous customizations and evolutions that you can apply to your shark. You will have a total of eight slots where you can equip modified body parts for your shark. Each of these has unique and useful characteristics. For example, some help your shark swim faster while others enable it to deliver an electric shock to enemies. Depending on what your goals are, it’s advisable to switch between abilities.

For example, if you’re aiming for battling, then focus on boosting your shark’s health and damage. If you’re hunting for treasures, try enhancing the number of nutrients you absorb. There’s the highly useful Advanced Sonar that can instantly ping all the important points of interest on your map. Mineral Digestion will boost the number of health and currency you obtain from prey by up to 30 percent.

Keep Using Your Sonar Periodically

It’s impossible to keep up with all of the hidden underground treasures without your trusty SONAR. Even after you have uncovered most of the map, it will always be equipped. Make sure you upgrade it as soon as possible and keep pinging it periodically. This will show you areas on interest on the map, revealing rare chests and other treasures within a radius of 300 meters.

Apart from that, it will also expose every neutral and hostile target in your area. This can come in handy when you’re seeking those rare green Minerals that are required for some major upgrades. You can explore and examine all of these collectibles at your own convenience.
