Good news for fans of the Marvel’s Voices bi-weekly podcast, now that it’s bound for its own anthology comic series. Marvel announced this week that the Angélique Roché-hosted podcast is being developed into its own comic series, giving fans a closer look at the Marvel Universe.
Debuting back in April 2018, Roché’s interview series has looked at both the Marvel comics, animation, games, and television world. She’s featured interviews with unique, diverse voices, like Mariko Tamaki (X-23), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist) and Saladin Ahmed (Black Bolt). The comic series will celebrate the characters and creators that make up the Marvel Universe.
Marvel’s Voices #1 will feature a slew of heavy hitters, as the anthology series will showcase the creator’s perspectives of events and storylines including House of X and Powers of X, and stories starring Hulk, Wolverine, Black Panther, She-Hulk, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Killmonger and other notable characters in the Marvel Universe. Marvel revealed the series will look at the X-Men navigating the world after declaring the new nation of Krakoa. Marvel’s Voices will also see the return of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Marvel’s Voices features an impressive roster of creators including contributions from Vita Ayala (Morbius), Roxane Gay (World of Wakanda), Brian Stelfreeze (Black Panther), Method Man (Method Man), Natacha Bustos (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur), and Luciana Vecchio (Ironheart).
I’m absolutely thrilled and honored to oversee this historic #1 issue celebrating the characters and creators that make up the grand mosaic that is the Marvel Universe, reflecting life as we live it! Not just the world outside our windows, but the fantastic worlds of heart and culture inside those other windows, too.
The series isn’t the first Marvel podcast to go from the audio to the visual medium. The Wolverine: The Long Night podcast became a comic after Benjamin Percy and Brendan Baker’s audio series became a hit for Marvel. The success has led Percy to write an upcoming Wolverine solo series. Hopefully, Marvel’s Voices can serve as a similar springboard for some of these creators into ongoing titles/series.
