Wow. So MacSpeech is no more. First MacSpeech ditched their own speech recognition engine for the market and technology leader Nuance in 2008. Then, Nuance bought the Macintosh speech recognition program earlier this year, and the ‘MacSpeech’ brand was up in the air. Now it is officially Dragon Dictate 2 for Mac. (MacSpeech Scribe still exists) Nevermind the name. The product is solid. I’ve been playing with the new Nuance Dragon Dictate 2 for Mac which uses the same best-in-class speech recognition engine as Dictate 11 for PC, and have to say this is a more than worthy upgrade....

One of them is Manu Kumar Jain, the head of Xiaomi India. That statement tells you a lot about the man. Marco Arment’s Overcast podcast player updated to version 3.0 this week and includes a new design with a novel monetization strategy: in-house advertising. Overcast has relied in in-app purchases and subscriptions in the past as well as Google-based advertising, but Arment is now rolling his own ads starting with the latest version. Arment’s podcast player, Overcast, has seen a major update this week to version 3.0, bringing new UI changes and a significantly updated watchOS 3 app....

Marvel Comics has just made an MCU Avengers catchphrase canon–in the most unlikely way possible way. Avengers: Age of Ultron isn’t exactly the best-received of Marvel’s main Avengers movies, with the romance between Black Widow and Bruce Banner one of the most criticized, on writer/director Joss Whedon’s part. But even if the Hulk/Widow romance was abandoned, the catchphrase it spawned is now immortal in comics, too. As fans will recall, the two Avengers were intended to connect because, in their heart of hearts, each considered themselves to be a monster unworthy of happiness....

New set photos from Marvel’s Eternals put Gemma Chan’s Sersi in modern day London. Marvel Studios confirmed this summer what Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will look like, and Eternals is one of their earliest offerings in a post-Avengers: Endgame world. The movie, directed by Chloé Zhao, is based on the Marvel characters of the same name, a group of superhumans created by the Celestials. With their lesser-known nature, Marvel Studios assembled an all-star cast to bring Eternals to the big screen....

Avengers: Endgame will be the culmination of the past 11 years of films, and will most certainly end the Avengers as we know them today. Many are wondering what will happen in the next phase of films, and which heroes may be a part of the new Avengers universe. Marvel Comics may have the answer. Marvel Studios Drops New “Loki” Trailer Marvel tweeted out the new trailer today which you can view below. Loki is set to debut exclusively on Disney Plus on June 11th. — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 5, 2021 This is the first new look at the show after we saw the exclusive Disney Plus clip for the show in February. Loki takes place following the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the new trailer, we see that Loki has been taken prisoner by the Time Variance Authority (TVA)....

Marvel Television is moving into uncharted territory this year by revolutionizing the typical television format. While the future of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. remains uncertain on ABC, the network and Marvel have partnered with IMAX to bring Inhumans to life on the big and small screen. The series first two episodes will first debut in a limited theatrical release window in IMAX, before the full eight episode series airs weekly starting in September....

Life continues for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Endgame, and the upcoming Phase 4 has a five-year plan so far. The upcoming Avengers: Endgame will not only be the culmination of a narrative that has been building up for over a decade, but it will also mark the end of the MCU’s Phase 3. The film that will kickstart Phase 4 is Spider-Man: Far From Home, to be released this summer....

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s upcoming Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, says he chose to do the movie because he wanted to give his son a superhero to look up to. First appearing in 1973, Shang-Chi was created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin. The character was raised by an evil assassin, though he’d eventually forge his own path. Working alone, and teaming up with the likes of such as Spider-Man and The Avengers, Shang-Chi has a bevy of different abilities which include a mastery of martial arts and a proficiency with weapons....

Ransomware, corporate email compromise, and credential harvesting together brought bring sector companies to a standstill in Latin America in 2021, further straining supply chains, the X-Force Threat Intelligence Index has found. In Brazil, ransomware was the primary attack method used by perpetrators last year, accounting for 32% of the security incidents. Manufacturing companies were the most attacked sector in Brazil, representing 20% of the ransomware attacks in 2021. According to the study, this reflects a global trend as cybercriminals found a vantage point in the critical role manufacturing organizations plays in global supply chains to pressure victims to pay ransoms....

Martin Scorsese’s daughter, Francesca, trolls her father with some Marvel-themed wrapping paper. The controversy that began when the legendary director shared his view that superhero movies were not cinema went on for months, seeming to come to an end when Scorsese penned an op-ed for The New York Times in which he explained his criticism with close to 1,500 words. Although not everyone would agree with the points made by the Academy Award winner, no one could argue that Scorsese hadn’t arrived at his opinion earnestly and thoughtfully....

Marvel Comics has chosen to debut a new superhero team, “The Union” - and the timing couldn’t be worse. The United Kingdom has always been a major target audience for comic books. In fact, in the past, Marvel used to run a dedicated “Marvel UK” imprint, which was a smart way of avoiding import costs. The books were originally just reprints, but gradually embraced original characters; still, Marvel UK writers created a remarkable number of original characters, including the likes of Captain Britain, Psylocke, and SHIELD agent Lance Hunter (who was incorporated into Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD)....
