The Inhumans are finally about to get to their debut. After a canned movie that would’ve likely set them up for big things in the larger MCU, the property has since been transformed into a TV/movie hybrid. The first two episodes of the series will debut in IMAX theaters later this year and will then be finished on ABC for a full eight episode story. With the release date getting closer, it was only a matter of time before the entire cast for the project was announced....

Matt Reeves’ The Batman script is complete. The Batman is a movie that has been in development for some time, and it has seen a wide variety of changes over the past few years. The original plan was to have Ben Affleck reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in the movie, however that changed after Reeves took over as director and decided to recast Batman. Reeves and Warner Bros. cast Robert Pattinson as Batman, which resulted in considerable backlash from fans....

Jon Favreau refuses to say whether or not characters from the Star Wars Legends stories, like Mara Jade and Thrawn, will appear in The Mandalorian. The first live-action Star Wars series will launch on Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, in just about two months, and will expand the canon of the galaxy far, far away. So far, Lucasfilm and Disney have kept canon stories between the Original Trilogy and the most recent trilogy to a minimum, but that wasn’t always the case....

Legendary director Martin Scorsese has doubled down on his criticism of Marvel movies, just when the debate over his initial comments appeared to be fading. The controversy all began when the filmmaker compared Marvel movies, and presumably the superhero genre more broadly, to theme parks. Although the comparison is not very flattering on its own, Scorsese was also complimentary. He conceded the movies were well-made, and the actors were trying to do good work....

Marvel Comics has shown that Kate Bishop doesn’t necessarily need Hawkeye. Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series about Clint Barton, currently titled Hawkeye, will see the two archers team up, but the controversy surrounding Jeremy Renner has called his future at Marvel into question. Court documents from a custody battle over his six-year-old daughter have emerged, which accuse Renner of threatening to kill his ex-wife and himself. Though Renner has denied the claims made against him, some Marvel fans are demanding that Renner be recast in Hawkeye....

Despite Martin Scorsese’s recent and flagrant bombardment of comic book movies, his latest film, The Irishman, wouldn’t be possible without the MCU. The nearly four-hour Netflix production courses through the times of real life mobster Frank Sheeran, including his place at the front-lines of World War II, his initial introductions with the mafia, and, most importantly, his self-claimed involvement in the disappearance of Union leader Jimmy Hoffa. Robert De Niro stars as Sheeran, headlining a truly epic cast which also includes Al Pacino as Hoffa and Joe Pesci as mob boss Russell Bufalino, as well as Ray Romano, Harvey Keitel, Jesse Plemons, and Anna Paquin, among others....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently preparing for its highly anticipated phase 4, which will have both new and old characters, and is the perfect opportunity to bring back a villain that didn’t have a good introduction: Ultron. The MCU’s first three phases, collectively known as the Infinity saga, came to an end with Spider-Man: Far From Home after reaching its peak with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Part of what makes the films so successful is seeing the characters interact with other characters from other films. The result has introduced audiences to some very intriguing relationships....

Marvel releases the first The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki footage in an MCU Disney+ teaser trailer during Super Bowl LIV. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will mark the first MCU show to premiere on Disney+, followed by WandaVision later in 2020, then Loki in Spring 2021. Marvel chief Kevin Feige confirmed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s 2020 release date at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, where he was joined by the show’s two stars, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan....
