To celebrate the achievements of young Londoners who took part in sessions this summer, Apple will host a Made in LDN Showcase from November 8-10. Amidst the burst of comics on screen, Netflix has blazed a path for its own hit franchise with its string of Marvel-centric shows. Mad Men was an incredibly popular show amongst both fans and critics, and one of the reasons for that was because of how consistent it was. The show always changed things up and while it had lengthy and well-developed plots, it also gave time to shorter ones for the supporting characters. This is why the ensemble cast felt so strong because each character was given a moment throughout the show, something to work with....

The trailer for The Mandalorian syncs up surprisingly well with the audio from the recent much-discussed Cats teaser. In November, Disney will launch their new streaming service Disney+ with The Mandalorian, a Star Wars adventure from showrunner Jon Favreau centered on a bounty hunter living on the outskirts of the galaxy in the wake of the Empire’s destruction. Recently, fans got their first look at the series via a trailer that, it’s safe to say, generated a whole lot of excitement....

Mark Zuckerberg has published an opinion piece in The Washington Post outlining four ways he thinks new regulation could benefit the Internet. Zuckerberg specifically points to harmful content, election integrity, privacy, and data portability. Zuckerberg calls for expanded privacy regulation, echoing similar statements from Tim Cook. In the piece, Zuckerberg says that he “agrees” with the calls for bringing framework similar to the General Data Protection Regulation to the United States....

Disney Plus Drops What If…? Trailer and Launch Date As its name implies, the series will showcase different versions of the MCU and bring up questions like “What if Peggy Carter got the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rodgers?” or how about – “What if Yondu kidnapped T’Challa instead of Peter Quill when he came to earth?” It will explorer different scenarios that didn’t “officially” happen in the live-action MCU on the big screen or official Marvel shows like WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier....

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu likes Birds of Prey, but he still has one enduring gripe against Suicide Squad. As part of Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Liu was announced to headline the upcoming MCU film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Customers and employees at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store in New York had somewhat of an interesting experience today. According to a report from ABC 7 NY, a man entered the store and headed to the iconic clear glass staircase and began waving around a samurai sword while screaming. He was then escorted out of the building, with Apple Store employees building a wall between him and the customers as a layer of protection....

Mark Hamill (Star Wars) is officially guest starring on the upcoming season of Jermaine Clement’s horror-comedy series What We Do In The Shadows. The series, which aired its first season on FX in 2019, is based on the 2014 film of the same name, co-written and directed by Clement (Flight of the Concords) and Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit), who both also starred in the movie. The new adaptation stars Kayvan Novak (Four Lions), Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), Natasia Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats), and Harvey Guillén (The Magicians)....

The Avengers and Fantastic Four are two of the biggest supergroups in Marvel Comics, whose adventures have spanned decades. Rarely has either team lost a fight resulting in the death of their entire respective teams. However, in a mid-’90s comic, the Avengers and Fantastic Four were both entirely wiped out by the same enemy. The character Onslaught first appeared in the pages of X-Men as a sentient entity created from the consciousness and dark psyche of both Charles Xavier and Magento....

When a devastating tragedy strikes the Marvel Universe, the American government decides it’s time to impose its will on underage superheroes, and ban them from fighting crime as vigilantes. But whether or not the next generation will listen is the story Outlawed will tell when it arrives to change Marvel Comics for the next year, at least. The special one-shot has just been announced for March 2020, with writer Eve Ewing and artist Kim Jacinto beginning what’s being called “a bold new era for Marvel’s most promising heroes....

When Apple started pushing its “Mastered for iTunes” section of albums “specially tuned for higher fidelity sound,” it also published a white paper detailing new guidelines asking publishers to submit high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz files instead of the original CD masters for inclusion in the section. Many were under the impression that the 100 or so albums in the new section are sonically closer to the original CD source in comparison to your average AAC encode from iTunes....

After DC celebrated one thousand issues of both Detective and Action Comics, their rival has announced the release of Marvel Comics #1,000. An oddly transparent answer to the recent milestone issues of Batman and Superman, with Marvel claiming that their own numbering represents a purely… “symbolic” number. The naming of the special issue is likely to draw more scrutiny than the actual content and talent assembled for Marvel Comics #1,000, an 80-page tribute to Marvel’s 80th anniversary....
