The newly crowned winner of The Masked Singer Australia, Cody Simpson, has revealed that he and girlfriend pop singer Miley Cyrus have both been sober for 4 months. According to Simpson, he started his sobriety journey the day he started filming the popular singing show. Just a few weeks ago, the premiere season of the Australian version of The Masked Singer ended with the Robot winning it all. The Robot turned out to be none other than Cody Simpson, who was fresh off his Broadway run as Dimitri in the musical Anastasia....

Apple is being sued by a man in Colorado over claims that the company’s $39 iPad Smart Covers violate a “Portable Computer Case” patent originally filed in 2003 and issued in 2005. PaidContent obtained a copy of the lawsuit. The United States patent in question is 6,977,809. A Colorado man owns it, Jerald Bovino, who is seeking royalties for sales of Smart Covers’ using his invention. An excerpt from the patent seems to describe functionality that is quite similar to Apple’s Smart Covers—at least the ribbed design:...

Hulu has officially renewed their live-action Marvel TV show Runaways for a third season. As part of Marvel TV’s ever expansive reach and moderate success, Hulu became the home to the first teen-focused series. Based on the beloved Brian K. Vaughn comic run, Runaways follows a group of teenagers who run away from home when they learn of their parents villainous ways. The first season of Runaways was well-received, but the staggered release strategy by Hulu hurt some of its momentum....

Following Tim Cook sending a letter to all Apple employees earlier today regarding the issue, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has today expressed his support for Apple in its ongoing battle with the FBI. Speaking at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Facebook CEO stated that he doesn’t believe that building back doors is the way to handle situations like the one being debated (via NY Times). “I don’t think building back doors is the way to go, so we’re pretty sympathetic to Tim and Apple,” Zuckerberg said....

One of Disney+’s biggest hooks is that it will bring Marvel TV shows that will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even though they’re still in development, Disney+ is already avoiding Netflix’s biggest MCU mistakes. The new X-Men lineup of Marvel Comics continues to grow, but the latest top secret team and series has finally been revealed. The Hellions will surely live up to their name, now that Marvel has united some of the strangest X-Men villains (and a few heroes) - to be led by the former supervillain, Mr. Sinister. The reveal of the Hellions series follows the mysterious introduction of the team’s first cover art, keeping the roster of mutants secret, shown in silhouette and filled in one by one....

Marvels X-Men comics are finally getting serious about diversity. The X-Men have traditionally been viewed as a metaphor for diversity; the campaign for mutant rights has been designed as a parallel to the battle for racial equality, and in the ’90s, in particular, it was extended to serve as a metaphor for the LGBTQ+ movement. In spite of that, the X-Men comics have been strangely slow to embrace true diversity. There are only a handful of LGBTQ+ characters, and their relationships have seldom been in the spotlight....
