With the Mad About You series revival set to premiere in November 2019, let’s take a look back at the show’s season 7 finale and whether or not it’s still considered canon. Mad About You was a New York City-set sitcom that aired for seven seasons on NBC between 1992 and 1999. The series starred Stranger Things’ Paul Reiser as documentary filmmaker Paul Buchman and Helen Hunt as his publicist wife Jamie and won a total of four Golden Globes and 12 Primetime Emmy Awards over its seven-season run....

Marvel’s X-Men comics have subtly hinted that mutants have not only existed, but been both numerous and prolific, for longer than any comic book fan had previously thought. Which means even before the world considered mutants to be the evolutionary “next step” of humanity, they were already taking it. People just didn’t know they were mutants at the time… The pseudo-scientific idea behind the evolutionary “step” was best explained in a 1996 miniseries, The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, in which one 19th century geneticist suggested evolution can sometimes happen at startling speed....

Marvel Comics has announced a new X-Men book, X-Factor, which will explore the most important mutants in the X-Men relaunch. Superstar comic book writer Jonathan Hickman has successfully relaunched the X-Men franchise, establishing a new status quo in which the mutant race has settled on the living island of Krakoa. The key to Krakoa’s future lies with an innovative approach to resurrection, involving a combination of Cerebro technology and synergy between five mutant powers....

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg apparently had some choice words for Apple during a recent company-wide meeting. According to a new report from BuzzFeed News Zuckerberg used the company-wide meeting as a way to criticize the control Apple holds over the iPhone and App Store. The report explains that Zuckerberg was specifically asked about Apple’s recent decision to block certain gaming applications from the App Store, including Microsoft xCloud and even the Facebook Gaming application....

Namor the Sub-Mariner just received a major upgrade in the pages of Invaders. Namor’s new powers erase any lingering doubts about Marvel’s aquatic anti-hero being more powerful than DC’s Aquaman. Competition between Marvel and DC isn’t a topic that either company likes to discuss, but that doesn’t stop fans from pitting their properties against each other. This happens all the time where the MCU and the DECU is concerned, with fans celebrating when DC beats Marvel at making the first female-led superhero film, or when Marvel movies make more money at the box office than DC films....

WandaVision’s title seems pretty straightforward, but it might actually mean something deeper than a mash-up of its lead characters’ names. Set to debut this year on Disney+, the Marvel Studios show will reunite Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda/Scarlett Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision for their own series. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, it’ll also feature Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as grown-up Monica Rambeau, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo and Katherine Hahn in a yet to be disclosed role....

Apple yesterday released the first developer beta of macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, despite the fact that macOS 11 Big Sur is not yet available to the general public. The first beta Big Sur 11.0.1 focuses primarily on bug fixes and performance improvements, alongside new wallpapers, but there are also references to three unreleased Macs included in the update. Within the /System/Library folder in macOS, Apple includes a variety of bundle files to identify different Mac models....

Ragnarok ransomware background The security firm FireEye released a report about a new ransomware called Ragnarok, which criminals use to attack internal networks after compromising Citrix ADC servers vulnerable to the CVE-2019-19781 — flaw that can be abused to execute arbitrary code. The first stage of the ransomware is a PE file responsible for injecting into the memory a Windows DLL — the 2nd stage — packed inside the binary. The ransomware DLL itself is named cry_demo....

Anonymous developers who have successfully infected Nvidia GPU cards with malware on both Linux and Windows machines say that the same can be done on Macs, and that they will release the proof soon. The aim of the whitehat developers is to raise awareness of this new method of attack, reports IT World. The team successfully created a piece of malware called WIN_JELLY which acts as a Remote Access Tool, enabling attackers to control a machine over the Internet....
